• <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION <br /> July 19, 2013 <br /> Ms. Ellen Heine <br /> Xcel Energy <br /> 414 Nicollet Mall <br /> Minneapolis, MN 55401-1993 <br /> RE: Review of Compliance Filing on Misplaced Structure - Orono Substation Expansion and <br /> New 115 kV Transmission Line Project <br /> PUC Docket Number E-002/TL-11-223 <br /> Dear Ms. Heine: <br /> The Commission is in receipt of the May 8, 2013 and June 21, 2013 correspondence from Xcel <br /> Energy regarding the misplaced structure nearest the Orono Substation. <br /> The following document was submitted in accordance with the Project Route Permit: <br /> Filing Permit Description e-Docket Document Date Filed <br /> Number Section(s) Number <br /> 1 4.1 Proposed resolution of 20136-88382-01 June 21, 2013 <br /> misplaced structure. <br /> On May 8, 2013, Xcel Energy informed the Commission that the first new transmission <br /> structure north of the Orono Substation (denominated as Structure 076-4) was constructed <br /> approximately 120 feet further north than intended. The May 8th letter informed the <br /> Commission that, Xcel Energy would investigate options for resolving this issue and would <br /> seek input from neighboring landowners on their preferences. <br /> On June 21, 3013, Xcel Energy filed a letter with the Commission that explained how the error <br /> occurred and described procedures for reducing the potential for this type of error to occur in <br /> the future.
