No Tanks City of Orono Septic Plan Review
10 X 38 Rock Bed Reviewer!
All work shall be done in full compliance
Mound repair Only with all applicable septic and zoning code.
® Joseph Olson D.B.A.
Rusty 4lson's--Soil and Percolation Testing
Joseph J. Olson--MPCA License # 810
11481 Riverview Rd. NE, Hanover, MN 55341
(763) 498-8779 Fax (763):498-8290
November 21. 2017
Danielle Steele
1050 Bayside Road
Orono, Hennepin County
To whom it may concern
I was contacted by Danielle Steele to design the repair for the failing mound system at 4050 Bayside Road.
1n the city of Orono. The results of the inspection and design are as follows -
Soil borings indicated that the existing rock bed does not meet the three -root separation to the periodically
saturated soils. Therefore. the solution is to remove the existing rocs: been and any of the sand material under the rot k
that is not clean. Then replace it with clean sand to the proper elevation.
The original soils under the uphill side of the rock bed at the south end are at elevation_ -87.2. The sysrent
was original installed with 1.0 feet of sand under the uphill side of the rock bed. The bottom of the new rock bed
must be placed at the elevation of 90.2. Due to less than 12 inches to the periodically saturated soils on the south
side of the rock bed this system is classified as a type III sy=stern.
I
The existing tanks may be used upon approval of the local inspector. The electrical box at the lift station
must be replaced.
i
There is one rock bed 38 feet in length. This will take approximately 13 cubiti yards of rock with six inches
of rock.
• The clean sand required will be approximately 52 cubic yards. This number s aa) vary due to the fact that.
We don't know how much of the sand will be removed until the rock bed is removed.1
oai
t The sandy loam cap will require approximately 12 cubic yards.
The laterals will take 108 lineal feet of Lwo-inch pipe with '.v -inch perforatiotrs_ Clean outs must be instalicd
on the end of the laterals.
The topsoil required will be approximately i I cubic yards.
/1 To add a fourth bedroom, it will take the additional amount of materials.
Page 1
