Inasmuch as the value, and our use and
enjoyment, of our home would be adversely affected by the proposed project, we have
tremendous interest in the outcome of this hearing.
Our concerns are many, but they all boil down the following: Xcel has a monkey on its
back, and it wants to solve that problem by putting said monkey on the back of nearby
homeowners, and other residents of Orono whose interests are adversely affected if the
city's comprehensive plan, and the rights and interests of its citizens, are not respected.
Xcel is exhibiting little concern about the project's impact on homeowners and other
stakeholders, and it appears that instead Xcel is seeking a quick, cheap and easy solution
for its problem.
We refer to the proposal as "Xce1's 9-9-9 Plan". On a scale of 0-9, Xcel scores all 9 for
itself:
Xcels' 9-9-9 Plan
9 9 9
"Cheap, easy and quick" "Cheap, easy and quick" Homeowners and Orono
solution creates shareholder solution helps enable Xcel residents pay the price for
value to pay CEO $12 solving Xcel's problem
million/year compensation (i.e.,puts Xcel's monkey on
backs of others)
.Z-
