("XES"), the service company for <br /> 8 Xcel Energy Inc. holding company system. XES personnel prepare, submit, <br /> 9 and administer regulatory applications to the Minnesota Public Utilities <br /> 10 Commission on behalf of Northern States Power Company, a Minnesota <br /> 11 corporation ("Xcel Energy" or "Company"). My current job position is Senior <br /> 12 Permitting Analyst, Siting and Permitting. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Q. PLEASE DESCRIBE YOUR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND PROFESSIONAL <br /> 15 EXPERIENCE. <br /> 16 A. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in geotechnical engineering from the <br /> 17 University of Minnesota in 1988 and a Juris Doctor from William Mitchell <br /> 18 College of Law in 2001. I held several different positions in the environmental <br /> 19 field prior to joining Xcel Energy in 2009. As a Senior Permitting Analyst for <br /> 20 Xcel Energy, I assess and strategize various state and federal permitting issues <br /> 21 regarding high voltage transmission line and associated substation construction <br /> 22 projects. I also prepare state route and site permit applications and work with <br /> 23 public and state agencies to obtain the necessary permits for construction of <br /> 24 high voltage transmission line projects.
