At that time the <br /> applicant submitted the materials needed in order to receive a building permit. Upon <br /> review of the plans by the City's Building Official it was discovered that the conversion <br /> of the flat roof, at the southeastern corner of the lot, to a pitched roof required a variance <br /> due to the existing non-conforming side yard setback.
