The purpose of this action item is to approve the 2019 Official Calendar. <br />2.Background. <br />Council Meetings <br />Council meetings are scheduled for the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 6:00 p.m. <br />Generally only one Council meeting is scheduled in December. The annual budget hearing will <br />be held at the beginning of the December 6th Council meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m. <br />Council Work Sessions <br />Council work sessions are scheduled for the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 5:00 <br />p.m. No work session is scheduled for December. <br />Planning Commission Meetings <br />Planning Commission meetings are scheduled for the third Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. <br />January and February are the exceptions because of Monday holidays. In those months, the <br />meetings will be held the following Tuesday. No Planning Commission meeting is scheduled in <br />December. <br />Planning Commission Work Sessions <br />Planning Commission work sessions will be scheduled on an as needed basis and are not reflected <br />on the 2021 calendar. <br />Park Commission Meetings <br />Park Commission meetings are scheduled for the first Monday of February, May, *September, <br />and November and begin at 6:00 p.m. (Note: *The September meeting will be held on Tuesday <br />because of a Monday Holiday.) <br />Park Commission Work Sessions <br />Park Commission work sessions scheduled for the first Monday of January, March, April, June, <br />*July, August, and October and begin at 6:00 p.m. (Note: * The July work session will be held <br />on Tuesday because of a Monday Holiday) <br />Holiday Schedule <br />According to the City’s personnel policy, the City schedules twelve holidays throughout the year, <br />which include regular holidays and one designated floating holiday to be set by the City <br />Administrator. The regular holidays observed are New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, <br />Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving <br />Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. <br />3.Staff Recommendation.
