DRAFT Comprehensive Fire Service Study MEDINA, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Matrix Consulting Group Page 31 <br />4 Maple Plain Fire Department <br /> <br />Maple Plain Fire Department provides service to the southwest area of the City of Medina <br />with an estimated population of 113 and approximately 39 households. This service area <br />is limited to the western side of Katrina Lake within the Morris T Baker County park. <br /> <br />1. Organization of the Fire Protection System <br /> <br />The Maple Plain Fire Department (MPFD) was initially formed in 1930 by a small group <br />of 13 residents. The department operates from a single station located in the City of Maple <br />Plain providing service to Maple Plain, Independence, Baker Park and Medi na on a <br />contractual basis.
