Purpose: To gain approval to use Hennepin County Assessors for assessing city properties <br /> <br />2. Background: The City has contracted with Hennepin County for assessing services since August of <br />1998. The current four-year agreement expired on July 31, 2020. The proposed agreement covers <br />assessing services from August 1, 2020 through July 31, 2022. The contract includes two one year <br />extensions that can be executed for maximum term of four years. The County Assessor’s Office provides <br />good customer service to our residents from experienced staff which is based on thorough knowledge <br />about high quality properties in our area. Hennepin County also offers a broad spectrum of resources for <br />the assessors including tax attorneys and specialists in exclusions/exemptions. <br /> <br />3. Funding: The City cost for 2021 services will be $208,000 and are budgeted under Assessing <br />Services in the General Fund. <br /> <br />4.
