The purpose of this action item is for council to accept a proposal for water meter <br />replacements for 2021. <br /> <br />2. Background. In 2019 the city developed a water meter change out plan to complete a change out of <br />all meters by 2027. The plan includes 4 phases of change out in 2019, 2021, 2024 and 2027. In 2019 a <br />total of 191 meters were replaced. In 2019 Ferguson Waterworks was selected to be the City’s water <br />meter supplier. The new meters are the Neptune Mach 10 Ultrasonic meters. The meters have a life <br />expectance of 15-20 years. <br /> <br />3. 2021 Project Scope. The scope for 2021 includes changing out 280 meters. <br /> <br />4. Cost. The city solicited a pricing proposal for our current meter supplier, Ferguson Waterworks. <br />Ferguson provided a quote of $108,590.00. The quote included supply of the meters and installation. <br /> <br />5. Funding. This project will be funded through the Water Enterprise Fund. The projected 2021 <br />yearend balance for the Water fund is $125,122. <br /> <br />6. Staff Recommendation. Staff recommend acceptance of the quote from Ferguson. <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to accept the quote from Ferguson Water works for $108,590.00. <br /> <br />Exhibits <br />A.
