April 2007 <br /> Wetland Delineation Report <br /> Baldur Park Rd <br /> City of Orono, Minnesota <br /> Introduction <br /> This wetland delineation report outlines the location, methods and <br /> results for an approximate 2.17 acres site in the City of Orono. The <br /> purpose of the evaluation was to identify areas meeting the technical <br /> criteria for wetlands, delineate the jurisdictional extent of the wetland <br /> basins and classify the wetland habitats within the site. This field <br /> delineation will be the basis on which the proposed project will <br /> address potential wetland impacts or avoidance. A field review of the <br /> site identified one wetland area. <br /> This report describes the methodology and results of the field <br /> delineations performed on April 19, 2007. Figures referenced in the <br /> text are included at the end of the document. <br /> Site Description <br /> The property is located in Section 08, Township 117 North, Range 23 <br /> West in Hennepin County, Minnesota. The project area is located in <br /> the City of Orono, at the end of Baldur Park Rd., along the peninsula. <br /> (Figure 1). The property is surrounded predominantly by North Arm <br /> Bay, which is part of Lake Minnetonka. There is a small wooded area <br /> in the center of the peninsula with residential homes to the south and a <br /> residential home on the northern point of the peninsula. The wetland <br /> area identified on the property was contiguous with the shoreline of <br /> North Arm bay. <br /> Wetland Delineation <br /> Wetlands Definition <br /> Wetlands are defined jointly by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers <br /> [USACE (Federal Register, 1982)] and the U.S. Environmental <br /> Protection Agency [EPA (Federal Register, 1980)] as follows: <br /> SMI Project No.63514-011 <br /> Page 1 <br />
