Dunldey pointed out the only square footage Ueing added to the house is over the garage and <br /> that it was suggested at the Plamzing Commission lneeting Uy Mr. Vogstrom that he could perhaps lower <br /> the center peak to the height of the garage. Dunkley commented she did not think it was possible to lower <br /> it to that height but the P1ar�ling Commission elected to go with the 28'/11". <br /> j White inquired about the height requirement for the eave that was mentioned by Mx. Vogstrom. <br /> Turner stated there is a building requirement far clearance of a stairway. Turner explained the center part <br /> ; extends forward of the other areas by approximately four feet and that the Uuilding code requires a certain <br /> i amount of clearance fi-om the eave. <br /> ' McMillan inquired whether there is any other way to access the upper deck except for the spiral staircase. <br /> Turner stated you could gain access from the elevator. <br /> Vogsh-om stated you can gain access to the deck via the spiral staircase and that the elevator allows access <br /> to all the levels. <br /> Gaffi-on stated there is a catwalk located on the outside of the house that allows access to the deck. <br /> McMillan inquired whether the catwalk is located inside the house or outside. <br /> Dan-en Hahn,Architect, stated there is no catwalk located on the inside of the house. Halm stated the <br /> deck does not go all the way to the front of the house. Halm stated the deck has to be at that height <br /> Uecause of the height of the roof and that they have lowered the pitch of the roof as much as possiUle. <br /> Muiphy inquired whether the room above the garage has a vaulted ceiling, <br /> Halul stated it does. <br /> Murphy stated that would mean that room is approximately 14 feet high. <br /> McMillan inquired how high the deck is. <br /> Halui stated the deck is 15 feet above the main floor. <br /> Vogstrom stated it would be approximately 13 feet because there would be two feet of insulation. <br /> Mur��hy coilunented iu his view this residence does not fit the character of the neighborhood and it is <br /> designed for maxinuim effect to the lalce. <br /> Dunkley displayed photographs of other residences in the neighborhood,noting that their house is located <br /> lower in elevation ihan the majority of the other homes in the area. <br /> PAGE9of15 <br />
