The purpose of this action item is to gain council approval to extend the Water Tank <br />Maintenance for another 5 years. <br /> <br />2. Background. In 2014 the City contracted with Short Elliot Hendrickson (SEH) to paint the North <br />Water tower in a design build maintenance contract. The maintenance portion of the contract was for 5 <br />years engine in 2019. At the end of the 5 years staff requested a proposal for another 5 year extension of <br />the maintenance contract. <br /> <br />3. Scope of Work. The contract will provide annual inspections, of the tower in each of the first four <br />years and a full (inside and out) cleaning, maintenance and engineering evaluation in the fifth year. <br /> <br />4. Staff Recommendation. I recommend approval of the extension. The first 5 years of the contract <br />went well. <br /> <br />5. Cost and Funding. The cost of the contract is $18,450 per year and is budgeted for in the Water <br />Operating Budget. <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Move to approve the Extension of the Water Tower Maintenance contract for 5 years with SEH for <br />$18,450/year. <br /> <br />Exhibits <br />A.
