MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> Monday,May 18,2020 <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> The Orono Planning Commission met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: <br /> Chair Jon Ressler and the following members appearing remotely: Commissioners Chris Bollis, Bob <br /> Erickson,Matt Gettman, Dennis Libby, Mark McCutcheon, and Scott Kirchner. Representing Staff were <br /> Community Development Director Jeremy Barnhart; City Planners Melanie Curtis and Laura Oakden. <br /> Mayor Dennis Walsh and Council representative Richard Crosby were also appearing remotely. <br /> Chair Ressler called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> Erickson asked if the new Commissioner, Scott Kirchner,would be sworn in at the meeting or a later <br /> time. <br /> Barnhart stated he would be sworn in when the meeting could be at City Hall, hopefully in June. <br /> Gettman moved,Libby seconded,to approve the Agenda for the May 18,2020 Planning <br /> Commission meeting.Roll Call Vote: Ayes 7(Libby,Erickson,McCutcheon,Bollis, Gettman, <br /> Kirchner,Ressler),Nays 0. <br /> APPROVAL OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES OF MARCH 16,2020 <br /> Libby moved,McCutcheon seconded,to approve the March 16,2020 Planning Commission <br /> Meeting Minutes.Roll Call Vote: Ayes 7(Libby,Erickson,McCutcheon,Bollis,Gettman,Kirchner, <br /> Ressler),Nays 0. <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> 1. LA20-000021 JEFF BRADY,350 NORTH SHORE DRIVE WEST,VARIANCE,6:05 P.M. <br /> -6:16 P.M. <br /> Jeff Brady,Applicant,was present. <br /> Staff presented a summary of packet information. <br /> McCutcheon asked if the height of the garage was less than the height of the house. <br /> Oakden said it is an addition to the house but believes they are maintaining the roofline. <br /> Bollis asked if the tent shed and shed on the survey were neighboring properties or if they were owned by <br /> the applicant. <br /> Oakden said she was not sure and that might be a question for the applicant. <br /> Mr. Jeff Brady,350 North Shore Drive West, said when the Wright-Hennepin Power Company came <br /> through and clear-cut a section for the power line, which feeds the people behind them, it was eroding <br /> away the driveway so they placed the tent shed and shed there.
