Three Rivers Park District will provide the Council and update on their master planning <br />process for the future development of the Diamond Lake Regional Trail (DLRT) with the intent of <br />receiving and Council comments prior to initiating the public engagement phase of the process. <br /> <br />2. Background. Three Rivers Park District (TRPD) is kicking off the master planning process for <br />future development of a new north-south regional trail through the western portion of Hennepin County. <br />Identified as the Diamond Lake Regional Trail (DLRT), the planning process for this 21-mile long <br />corridor began in January of 2020. TRPD has held planning session with City Staff and the Parks <br />Commission. The designated representatives from Orono for the process area Adam Edwards (Staff <br />Representative), Victoria Seals (Council Representative) and Rick Carter (Park Commission <br />Representative). TRPD briefed and collaborated with Parks commission at their February Work Session. <br /> <br />3. Presenter. Stephen Shurson, a TRPD landscape Architect, is the Project Manager for the project and <br />will be the lead presenter. <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />No formal action required.
