boxes, and rough areas; <br /> Empting garbage and recycling cans; <br /> Inspects, maintains, and or repairs parks, beach and trails grounds, equipment and facilitates <br />at frequent intervals to insure a safe enjoyable environment for patrons. <br /> Maintains records relating to inspections and maintenance activity. <br /> Drives a pickup truck and operates equipment of various sizes and weights in loading, <br />hauling and unloading various equipment or materials. <br /> Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refers <br />defects or needed repairs to appropriate personnel; cleans equipment; may adjust, lubricate, <br />or make small repairs to equipment while in use. <br /> Other duties and projects as assigned by the Supervisor. <br /> Performs all duties in accordance with appropriate safety and security standards. <br /> Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned. <br />Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities <br />Knowledge: <br /> Methods and materials used in facilities cleaning, and parks maintenance; <br /> Equipment used in carrying out facilities and parks maintenance; <br /> Occupational hazards and established safety practices <br /> <br />Skills: <br /> Active Listening — Give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to <br />understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at <br />inappropriate times. <br /> Equipment Maintenance — Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining <br />when and what kind of maintenance is needed. <br /> Language Skills- Verbal communications skills needed to deal with the building users <br />and with fellow employees. As questions arise, they must communicate with the public, <br />answer questions and make decisions on facility use. Written communication skills are <br />needed to leave correspondence with the day employees if problems arise or repairs are <br />needed. <br /> <br />Abilities: <br /> Follow written and oral directions and work without on-site supervision and make on-site <br />decisions related to work assignments; <br /> Work effectively with other employees, contractor personnel, and other outside work crews; <br /> Communicate tactfully with public; <br /> Control Precision — Able to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a <br />vehicle to exact positions. <br /> Multilimb Coordination — Able to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, <br />two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not <br />involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion. <br /> Arm-Hand Steadiness — Able to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm <br />or while holding your arm and hand in one position. <br /> Manual Dexterity — Able to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, <br />or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
