A RESOLUTION <br />GRANTING PRELIMINARY APPROVAL OF <br />AMENDMENT #2 OF THE <br />ORONO 2040 COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT PLAN: <br />CITY OF ORONO <br />FILE #LA19-000099 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono (hereinafter "City") is a municipal corporation <br />organized and existing under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and <br />WHEREAS, on May 23, 2019 the Metropolitan Council approved the <br />Comprehensive Plan, authorizing adoption by the City of Orono; and <br />WHEREAS, on June 10, 2019 the Orono City Council adopted the 2040 <br />Orono Community Management Plan (hereinafter "CMP" or "the Comprehensive Plan") to <br />provide for the orderly development of the City, in compliance with the Metropolitan Land <br />Planning Act of 1976 and Minnesota Statutes Chapters 462 and 473; and <br />WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan identifies 8 priorities of the city with <br />regard to trails and trail connections; and <br />WHEREAS, commiserate with the annual review of the Plan and the Park <br />commission priorities, the Park Commission identified the need to adjust the priorities for <br />trails to read as follows: <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
