Following are my <br /> comments for City consideration: <br /> 1. Silt fence should be indicated on the plan down gradient from all proposed work to prevent sediment migrating <br /> off-site. The silt fence should be installed and inspected by the City prior to any land disturbing activities. The <br /> Contractor must provide a minimum 24 hour notice prior to inspection. <br /> 2. The plans are unclear regarding what is being proposed for retaining walls. Top of wall and bottom of wall <br /> elevations should be indicated on the plan at key locations. Retaining walls 4'or greater in height must be <br /> r designed by a licensed professional, and plans should be submitted to the City for review and approval prior to <br /> any land disturbing activities. <br /> 3. A financial security of$2,500 from the Applicant is recommended for erosion control and engineering oversight. <br /> The financial security is intended to provide protection in the event that it becomes necessary for the City to <br /> install or maintain erosion and sediment control within the project area and covers the cost of vegetation re- <br /> establishment if the applicant is unable to follow through with the conditions of approval. <br /> 4. The applicant may be required to obtain Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) approval and permitting <br /> for their Erosion Control rule.
