.
that precipitation has generally'been above average over the past ten years.
SER delineated one wetland basin during the June 14, 2002 site visit. Basin 1 was delineated as a
palustrine (P-) type wetland with an unconsolidated bottom (-UB-) and exhibiting a permanently
flooded (-H) moisture regime (PUBH) or a Type 5 wetland:Basin 1 is located in a low-lying area
immediately southeast of the house located in the southwestern portion of the project_site
Figure 6 illustrates the approximate wetland boundary of Basin 1 located on the subject property.
SER only delineated that portion of Basin 1 that is located on the subject property. Field data
sheets for Basin 1 are included in Appendix A of this report.
CONCLUSIONS
SER examined the subject property and delineated one wetland, which exhibited hydrophytic
vegetation, hydric soils and wetland hydrology. Basin 1 is the PUBG wetland as illustrated on
the NWI map. The dominant vegetation surrounding Basin 1 consisted of reed canary grass, •
(Phalaris arundinacea, FACW+) and lesser duckweed(Lemna minor, OBL). According to the ,
Soil Survey of Hennepin County, the site consists of hydric soils, Dundas silt loam, within the
area delineated as wetland. SER personnel verified that the soils of Basin 1 did meet hydric soil
conditions as described in the data sheets. SER observed 4"of standing water approximately 2
-feet from the wetland boundary and that the depth of water increased as the distance from the •
wetland boundary increased. SER placed the wetland boundary based on the presence of
hydrophytic/non-hydrophytic vegetation.
The area of the PEMC wetland illustrated on the NWI map was also investigated to determine if
the area met wetland criteria. SER personnel observed an area that was apparently disturbed or
not established as lawn(mixture of bare soils and upland type vegetation) with a dominance of
upland vegetation. SER determined that the area is not a wetland, based on these findings.
•
Note that all property and wetland boundaries illustrated on the figures are approximate.
SER appreciates the opportunity to provide our services on your project.
