625 Ferndale Road North
Orono, Minnesota
Wetland Delineation Report
I. INTRODUCTION
The 625 Ferndale Road North site was examined on November 13, 2014 for the presence and
extent of wetland. The 4.0-acre site was located in Section 36, Township 118N, Range 23W,
City of Orono, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Generally the site was located south of Lydridard
Road and west of Ferndale Road North(Figure 1). Site limits were comprised of Hennepin
County PID 3611823110021.
The site consisted primarily of a single-family residential lot dominated by mowed Kentucky
bluegrass and planted conifer(red pine &white spruce) and deciduous (green ash and boxelder)
trees (Figure 2). One (1)wetland was located in the north area of the site in a depressional area
dominated by reed canary grass. An open water pond was located along the southern boundary of
the project area.
Generally topography was highest on the north half of the site and sloped gradually downhill
toward the south.
Adjacent to the site were single-family residential homes on large lots.
II. METHODS
Wetlands were identified using Routine Determination methodology described in the Corps of
Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual(Waterways Experiment Station, 1987) and Regional
Supplement to the Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual: Midwest (Version 2.0) as
required by Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and the Minnesota Wetland Conservation Act.
Wetland boundaries were identified as the upper-most extent of wetlands, which met criteria for
hydric soils, hydrophytic vegetation, and wetland hydrology. Wetland-upland boundaries were
marked with pin flags and were located by Demars-Gabriel Land Surveying IncCraig,
I have a couple things attached in the email. First is the wetland delineation report for your review. I also attached a
page of the WCA Application that needs to be signed and dated by the client. Can you send me a scanned copy of
the page and the contact information of the client(mailing address, email and phone number)?
Thanks,
Soils, vegetation, and hydrology were documented at representative locations along the wetland-
upland boundary. Plant species dominance was estimated based on the percent aerial or basal
2
