BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION FLOW CHART <br /> Occasionally, following the <br /> meeting with staff the <br /> proposal will be revised to <br /> Project Idea meet Code and submitted <br /> for building permit. <br /> 0 <br /> O Meetings are most effectivewh en conducted with the homeowner and the <br /> homeowner's contractors and sometimes the City's Engineer.This is to aid in <br /> preparing a complete application,inform the homeowner(and contractors)ofthe <br /> 0 process and req uirements ofthe City Code,building code,billing and identify <br /> l 1 policies or regulations that create opportunities o r p robl ems fo rth a proposal. If the <br /> Meeting with homeowner's proposal does not meet the City Code,rather than suggesting a <br /> Building or variance ap plication,staff will encourage the ap plicantto revise their proposal to <br /> Planning Staff conform to City Code. If th is is not possible the variance process isd iscussed(see <br /> Variance Procedure Flow Chart formore information.) <br /> The application is taken in at the front counter,and given a permit application <br /> n umber.The homeownerand/orapplicant are req uired to submit an escrow <br /> Application check and signed escrow agreement,if applicable. The application is then <br /> Submitted processed to d etermi ne if it is complete and distributed to appropriate P&Z <br /> staff for zoning review priorto proceeding to the Building Official forbuilding <br /> code review.If necessary,the application&plan details are sent/given to the <br /> City Attorney&City Engineerfortheircomments. Often times a site inspection <br /> conducted by Staff&City Engineer is necessary. <br /> • <br /> In the case of an in completeapplication(i.e.missing <br /> i n fo rmation)the applicant is notified and City review ofthe <br /> project is on hold until the information is submitted. <br /> V <br /> Detailed Staff Review: PLEASE NOTE: Individual departmental staff review <br /> 1. Septic review (if necessary); ofthe building permit application materials is a <br /> 2. Engineer review (if necessary); sequential process.
