MINUTES OF THE � <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMTSSrON <br /> Monclay, Septembei• 19,2005 <br /> 6:00 o'clock p.cn. <br /> (#OS-3136 TROY BROITZMAN, CONTINiTED) <br /> Ralui inquired how far the retaining wall is f�-om the lakeview, <br /> Broitzman stated the deck and wa11 are 14 feet away. Broitzman indicaLed he did calculafe the difference <br /> in capacity for a lookout versus a walkout and that ll-►e difference amounls to 174 yards. <br /> Rahn noted that elevation is different from the last proposal. Ralui stated whenever fill is being imported <br /> or exporled, the coilunents of the City Engineer need to Ue relied upon by the Plaiming Connnission. <br /> Bi-oitznlan stated the amount of fill being proposed has been reduced by approximately 1,900 sq�iare <br /> yards. <br /> Rahn inquired whether the temporary easements have been worked out. <br /> Broitzman stated one neighbor was present earlier tonight, who is in support of the proposal, and that the <br /> other neighbor is also in agreement with it. Broitzman indicated he does have a letter from both <br /> neighbors indicating their support and that he will be hiring an attoiney to work on the paperwork for the <br /> easements. <br /> Ralui opened the public liearing. <br /> There were no conunents relating to this application. � <br /> Jurgens stated in his view this is an immense amount of dirt being hauled off of this property for one <br /> house,which just does not make sense. <br /> Fritzler stated he is in agreement with Coilulussion Jurgens and that typically mast people try to match <br /> the contour of the property when they consh•uct a residence and not move missive amounts of dirt to <br /> create a walkout. Fritzler stated he does not see anything in this application to justify that amount of fill <br /> to be n7oved and that he is opposed to the proposal. <br /> Winkey slated he is fine with the application �iven the changes made by the applicant. <br /> Broitztnau stated the difference between a walkottt and a lookout is 174 yards,WI11CI1 1S tlllllllllcll. <br /> Broitzman stated the lot is approximately two acres in size, and suggested ihat L-he amount of fill be taken <br /> into consideration with lhe size of the lot. <br /> Bremer stated she does Iike Lhe changes the apl�licant has made and that in her view the residence is set <br /> back far enough fi�om the road not lo have a inajor visual iil�pacl. T3remer indicated she does not have an <br /> issue with it since the neighUors are fine with the�roposal.
