Road Access Imnrovements. <br /> The City is still pursuing the installation of a `roundabout' traffic management system at <br /> the intersection of OId Wayzata Blvd and Old Highway 12. We have invested a <br /> considerable amount of time and money working through MnDOT and Hennepin County <br /> review processes in an attempt to gain the necessary approvals. At the moment we <br /> believe that both agencies will eventually grant approvai. Funding will not be provided <br /> by MnDOT,so other avenues a.re being pursued,including use of Highway 12 Turnback <br /> funding from the County, which could still be a number of years away. <br /> If a roundabout is constructed,the current design includes a service road to your property, <br /> paralleling Old 12 and most likely exiting to the west leg of Myrtlewood Road just north <br /> of its intersection with Old Wayzata Boulevard. This would potentially result in complete <br /> elimination of your current access, although retaining a right-in/right-out option for <br /> westbound traffic has also been considered, The layout configuration has been evolving <br /> a11 through the MnDOT review process, and no final design has been approvecl. It is <br /> likely to be a few years before actual construction of the roundabout and service roads <br /> would occur. <br /> I am attaching copies of the email correspondence that Scott Oberaigner of our Public <br /> Works Deparirnent had with Ann Norgaard of the Minnesota Health Department in July. <br /> Basically, on July 21 Norgaard asked Scott whaf is the time line for yow•water <br /> connection. On July 22 Scott asked me for an update. I told him it would be mid/late <br /> 20Q9 at best. That is what he told Norgaard. <br /> I have scheduled a 15-minute time slot for you to meet with the City Council at their <br /> work session next Tuesday,December 9 at 630 p.m. in the council Chambers.
