This workshop will fit perfectly with the City of Orono's philosophy <br /> of preservation, improving water quality, and maintaining a rural character. <br /> Natural Shore staff will give a one hour presentation about how <br /> landscaping with native plants can attract wildlife to your yard, improve the � <br /> environment, and still be attractive and aesthetically pleasing. Natural Shore . � <br /> Technologies will offer a special plant sale to workshop attendees after the <br /> presentation. <br /> Title: Landscaping with Native Plants: Creating Habitat in Your Own Backyard <br /> Objectives <br /> The goals of the workshop are as follows <br /> • How to choose plants for wildlife <br /> • Create an understanding of the difference between native plants, <br /> ornamentals, and invasive plants (weeds) <br /> Intended Audience <br /> This workshop will be targeted to homeowners who are interested in attracting <br /> birds, butterflies, and other wildlife to their own backyard. Material presented will <br /> be suitable for beginners to experienced enthusiasts. <br /> Intended Size <br /> 25-50 people <br /> Proposed Length <br /> 2 hours (1 hour presentation, .5 hour questions and discussion, .5 hour for plant <br /> sales) <br /> Proposed Location <br /> Orono public meeting space (City hall?) <br /> Proposed Day and Time <br /> June 2010, Friday or Saturday, late 3-5pm <br />
