City Administrator <br /> Date: March 8, 2010 <br /> Subject: MCWD Rules Update <br /> As noted in your February 25 Friday update, Mayor White and I attended a meeting <br /> February 24 with MCWD representatives to discuss the Watershed District's proposed <br /> Rules D & F regarding wetlands and shoreline protection. The MCWD Board has taken <br /> a hard look at the many comments submitted by the various stakeholder groups and in <br /> response has made a significant number of changes to the proposed rules. The changes <br /> resolve a number of Orono's concerns. <br /> We have yet to see a revised version of the proposed rules. However, two emails from <br /> James Wisker are attached. The second indicates he will be distributing an updated <br /> version on March 16 to the Technical Advisory Committee. <br /> In the meantime, Mound is hosting a"summit" meeting of the Lake area mayors, <br /> councils and invited staff(see attached email) on March 17. We should discuss Orono's <br /> potential involvement or non-involvement... <br />
