CMP Part 4F. Public Services Plan <br /> HEALTH CARE SERVICES <br /> Emergency health care is provided by advanced life support ambulances. <br /> Consistent with the Metropolitan Council's Emergency Medical Services Plan <br /> advanced life support ambulance service as well as air ambulance service via <br /> helicopter is provided to all of Orono. Primary service is provided by North <br /> Memorial Hospital with a local unit based in Lonb Lake. Back-up service is <br /> provided by North units based in Minnetonka and/or by Waconia Hospital units <br /> based in Minnetrista. <br /> Additional emergency care is provided by the trained Orono Police officers who <br /> often are the first responders to any emergency situation. Each Orono patrol <br /> vehicle on duty is equipped with an Automated External Defibrillator. Help is <br /> also available from the €a� two contract fire departments which have trained <br /> personnel plus medical supplies and rescue equipment. <br /> Hospital care is available within reasonable distance of Orono. The <br /> Emergency Medical Services Plan identifies North Memarial Hospital in <br /> Robbinsdale and Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia as primary emergency <br /> receiving hospitals for Orono patients. Additional designated receiving hospitals <br /> include Methodist in St. Louis Park, Fairview Southdale in Edina. HCMC in <br /> Minneapolis, and Mercy-Unity in Fridley. <br /> Routine medical care is provided in Navarre & most surrounding <br /> municipalities. Medical and dental clinics are located in or near the Navarre <br /> Area of Orono and in almost all surrounding cities including Mound, Maple <br /> Plain, Long Lake, Wayzata and Excelsior. Those located in Excelsior, Mound <br /> and Wayzata are full service and are reachable by public transit service from <br /> mt►ch of Orono's urban area. <br /> Additional health and human services are a��ailable through various <br /> programs operated by Hennepin County. �a The key service providers a-�e <br /> is the Hennepin County �� Human Services and Public Health <br /> Department �' *'�� ^a���* c� �� n� ��*m �* <br /> uiiu c�i <br /> Health Care Goals <br /> 1.
