At this time there is no proposal to which Council can react. The potential developers <br /> are still formulating their concept, and once we receive it the City has an obligation to <br /> review it. The City Council has control over zoning, and through its review processes <br /> has the ability to approve or reject any proposals for higher density. The City has its <br /> greatest level of discretion with changes to the Comp Plan and zoning- see the attached <br /> Planning and Zoning Discretion Pyramid. <br /> 1ULY 2013 Building/Planning/Zoning Update <br /> In addition to normal day-to-day business (which includes preparing PC and Council memos, letters <br /> written, and regular phone calls, etc) Planning Staff met with a number of residents, developers, realtors <br /> etc in the month ofJune. Some highlights include but are not limited to the following: <br /> Site Visits—General Inquiry: <br /> • On site meeting with homeowner and contractor regarding a lakeshore slope failure; <br /> • Met with a realtor regarding two properties on Bayside Rd; <br /> • Met with Jesse Struve & several attorneys representing different property owners to discuss <br /> resolution of drainage issues and permitting requirements; <br /> Site Visits—Current Permit or Land Use Application: <br /> • Meeting with homeowner on site to discuss ROW issues; <br /> • Site visits to take photos for current/upcoming applications; <br /> Site Visits/Follow-Up—Code Enforcement: <br /> • Junk & debris; <br /> • Illega� use; <br /> • Unpermitted filling/grading; <br /> • Unpermitted tree cutting, etc; <br /> • Met with a homeowner regarding a notice of violation for their property; <br /> • Court - 1/2 day <br /> • Met with LMCD staff regarding potential multiple dock and dock rental violations <br /> Meetings—Current Land Use Applications: <br /> • Met with applicants for upcoming PC or Council agenda; <br /> • Two meetings potential buyer about finalizing a subdivision on Sixth Ave; <br /> • Pre-Con meeting for Bayside Meadows; <br /> • Final document preparation for Bayside Meadows; <br /> • Meetings/and phone calls with the property owner, developer and bank regarding Bayside <br /> Meadows plat; <br /> • Meeting with an applicant regarding a parking variance; <br /> • Two lengthy phone discussions with a property owner regarding the Bayside Meadows <br /> development; <br /> • Met with a property owner regarding the status of an application a developer is working on <br /> their behalf; <br />
