r
M S T S 9075 155"'STREET.
A DIVISION OF WRM SERVICES INC. KIMBALL,MN 55353
(320)398-2705
June 9,2009
Kea Hong
1165 Wyndmere Road
Orono,MN 55391
RE: Septic System Design for 1165 Wyndmere Road,Orono, MN
Dear Kea
As per your request,an onsite wastewater treatment system has been designed for the referenced
property. It is our understanding that your existing system is non-compliant and you wish to upgrade it.
The property was evaluated for it potential to support a standard septic system but due to limited space
and high seasonal watertable no area could be found to support such a system. Therefore an Other type
septic system has been designed in general accordance with Minnesota Rule Chapter 7080.
The system will consist of using the existing two 1000 gallon septic tanks(provided they are inspected
and found to be complaint), installing a 1300 gallon lift station and installing a 1260 pressure bed. An
additional 500 gallon septic tank may be required to meet the city ordinance requirements but because
they are existing and they meet the minimum requirements of chapter 7080 they may not require an
additional septic tank to be installed. The proposed pressure bed area is to be over excavated to an
elevation of 98.0 and filled with 1.2 feet of washed mound sand. The pressure bed is to be constructed
on the washed sand.
Soil borings were completed on the property and revealed fine sandy loam soil with a seasonal water
table at an elevation of 96.2. With the bottom of the proposed pressure bed at an elevation of 99.2 the
system will have the required three feet of vertical separation to the seasonal watertable.
Because this system is classified as an Other type system semiannual monitoring and flow measurement
will be required. For frequencies of the monitoring refer to the monitoring plan attached. Also attached
is a mitigation plan. This plan lays out recommendations to follow if the system or a portion of the
system fails or does not work properly.
If you have any questions regarding the septic design feel free to contact me,I can be reached at 320-
398-2705
Sincerely,
Miller's Sewage Treatment Solutions
Bernie Miller
MPCA Lic.No. 1921
