Nothing other than human waste, toilet tissue, laundry, showers, water softener etc. <br /> should be disposed of into the septic tanks. Recommend Iron filters be diverted out of <br /> the system. Recommend to divert the water softner also if the iron filter is diverted. <br /> Garbage disposals are not recommended, due to adding more solids &fine solids <br /> passing through to the system. Excessive amounts of soaps, antibacterial soaps, <br /> cleaning agents, shower cleaners used every shower & chlorine agents may kill the <br /> bacteria needed to treat septic effluent.
