S. TESTING, INC. Steven B. Schirmers — MPCA Cert. No. 627
951 Katydid Lane NE • St. Michael, MN 55376 • (612) 497-3566
August 2, 1992
Richard Perry
440 Willow Dr-So.
Orono, Henn. Co. , MN
A site Evaluation was completed on this property for On-Site Sewage
Treatment for a Type 1, three bedroom home.
This site has an existing failing system due to being too small &
in a seasonally high water table at 34" to 40" deep. To adequately
treat septic effluent, a Pressurized Mound System would need to be
installed. This site has very limited space with no available area
for a mound system. The only system that will meet codes would be
holding tanks with the effluent hauled off site. At today' s prices,
this will cost approx. $3600.00 to $4000. 00 a year with low water
use facilities installed throughout the house.
A request for an alternative system is needed. A Class 1 Aerobic
Treatment system, Multi-Flo Wastewater Treatment system is available
with shallow trenches 18" deep with 12" of cover over the rock with
approx. 600 to 700sq.ft. available. The system requires to be
serviced 2 times a year. A 2 year service contract comes with the
purchase of the unit. After the 2 year period, the home owner will
be required to carry a service contract at a cost of $100.00yr.
(1992 ' s price) with a report to the City, MPCA, Multi-Flo & the
Home Owner. The Multi-Flo unit will be model FTB0. 5. These
treatment system treat the BOD & TSS with a removal of 96% to 98%
& virus removal is greater than 99%. To install the Multi-Flo
unit, a lift pump will be needed in the lower level to keep the
tanks shallow. A 500 to 750 gallon septic tank will need to be
installed as a trash trap ahead of the unit.
All neighboring wells are located greater than 75 ' away from the
proposed treatment area.
Keep all heavy equipment off of the proposed treatment area before and
after construction. The treatment area should be marked off before
construction. This Design is not valid & the System will need to
be relocated if failure to protect the areas proposed for On-Site
Sewage Treatment occurs.
Nothing other than gray water, (laundry, showers, etc. ) human
waste & toilet tissue should be disposed of into the septic tanks.
Garbage disposals are not recommended. Additives must not be used,
they may cause harmful damage to your septic system.
'Steven B. Schirmers D5
smS/ds
