4 - <br /> Vegetation Management Plan <br /> The following is the proposed vegetation management plan for the wetland buffer at 950 <br /> Willow View Drive, Orono,MN <br /> Project Goals & Objectives <br /> The goal of the project is to remove the areas of manicured lawn dominated by Kentucky <br /> blue grass so as to provide a natural wetlands buffer free from invasive plants. <br /> Site Preparation <br /> • Areas of manicured lawn dominated by Kentucky blue grass will be removed <br /> through spray treatment of Roundup Originalmax in specified area. The site will <br /> be prepared by agitating and loosening the soil to a minimum depth of 3 inches <br /> for seeding in the buffer area. <br /> • Areas of invasive or exotic species, such as Canadian thistle will be spot sprayed <br /> using Roundup Originalmax herbicide as per manufacturer's directions. <br /> • Site preparation and seeding to be completed by the end of September 2012. <br /> Seed Mixes and Plant Materials <br /> • MnDOT seed mix 350 will be used to seed the buffer area as this seed mix is <br /> recommended for upland buffer areas. <br /> • Seed will be applied either by drop seeding or broadcast seeding. <br /> Timing of seeding and other planting activities identified Vegetation Maintenance& <br /> Schedule of Activities <br /> • Re-seeding and over-seeding to occur early each spring and late fall until full <br /> sustainable natural buffer has taken root <br /> • Annual removal of invasive plants and spot treatment of invasive species to occur <br /> annually or as more or less frequently as recommended by Prairie Restoration, <br /> Inc. or such other qualified firm. <br /> Sev'tI- <br />
