Brian Fulmer 3507 Wayzata Boulevard Long Lake, MN 55356 Dear Mr. Fulmer: Due to a failing septic system at your dog kennel facility, the City Council on December 8, 1986 granted a variance for you to hook up to the sewer line located at the southeast corner of US Highway 12 and the Burlington Northern Railroad pending Metropolitan Council approval. The City acquired the Met Council's approval in 1987, but the sewer hook up has still not been completed after six years. The septic system has been discharging sewage effluent to the surface posing a threat to the health and welfare of the residents of the City. The sewer hook up is required now to eliminate the sewage discharge before any serious health problems result. Engineering was approved for your lift station and connection to the sewer line October 13, 1993. You have been contacted on several occasions to verify your progress in making the connection to the sewer line. At this time, connection has not been made nor has a permit been issued for the required work. In order to expedite your connection to the sewer and abandonment of your septic system, you are required to obtain a permit for connection to sewer by January 5, 1994 with the sewer connection and septic system abandonment to be completed by January 31, 1994. If these deadlines are not met, we will be forced to turn this matter over to the City Attorney. Please contact me at the City offices if there are any questions. Thank you for your cooperation.
