S-P ,TESTING, INC. Steven B. Schirmers — MPCA Cert. No. 627
951 Katydid Lane NE • St. Michael, MN 55376 • (612) 497-3566
October 8, 1994
John Shannon
2760 White Oak Circle
Orono, Henn. Co. , MN
This On-Site Sewage Treatment System is Designed for a Type 1 , four
bedroom home Designed in accordance with the Minnesota Pollution
Control Agency Chapter 7080 and local ordinances .
This site has an existing non-conforming system with the bottom
of the system less than 3 ' from saturated soils (mottled soil ) .
A Soil Boring into the existing system indicated the system
is hydraulically overloaded.
The soils on this site are a clay loam. A seasonally high water
table was located at 22" & 24" , (mottled soil ) . Que to the
seasonally high water table, a Pressurized Mound System will
need to be installed. The bottom of the rock bed must be located
at least 3 ' above the seasonally high water table .
The existing tanks may be used upon approval by the local Inspector .
The tanks must be water tight. Approval will be needed from the
city to be 50 ' away from the stream. See site plan.
The soils at a depth of 12" have a percolation rate averaging
10 . 8 min/inch.
A pumping chamber will need to be installed to lift the effluent
to the treatment area .
The supply line will need to cross a stream. Recommend to install
the supply line deep below the frost line but allow the manifold
& approx. 75 ' of the supply line to have back drainage. A second
option would be to exit the pumping chamber near the bottom of
the tank approx. 18" above the bottom to allow total back drainage.
The new exit from the tank must be properly sealed.
The manifold and supply line pipe must have back drainage to the
pumping chamber. The distribution pipes shall have their ends
capped. Be sure the rock and sand fill material are clean. The
sod layer below the entire mounded area must be turned over, just
break up the sod , be sure not to over work.
CONT ' D
