The results <br /> of the survey are available on the city website or by contacting the City Clerk. <br /> PARK, OPEN SPACE AND TRAIL GOALS AND POLICIES <br /> Orono's Park, Open Space and Trail Plan is based upon the following goals and Policies,which in turn are <br /> consistent with the other elements of Orono's Community Management Plans: <br /> Goals <br /> 1. To provide passive open space and active recreational opportunities to serve the needs and <br /> desires all residents. <br /> 2. To protect, preserve, restore and provide access to ecologically significant natural resource <br /> areas, wildlife habitats and open space. <br /> 3. To provide citywide bike and walking trails that provide connections between area parks, <br /> trails and open space and when possible function as a transportation corridors. <br /> 4. To identify,preserve and highlight areas of historical significance. <br /> 5. To maintain and increase access for all residents to the city's lake resources such as Lake <br /> Minnetonka and Long Lake. <br /> 6. To achieve the above goals within the financial capabilities of the City and its citizens by <br /> City of Orono Community Management Plan 2020-2040 Part 4E, Page 6 <br />
