Job Site; Lot 1 , Blk 2 , Rolling Meadows Addition, Orono , Minn. Percolation tests amd soil borings were done on the above lot in 5/13/88 and on 11/29/90. It was determine that a mound system would be needed on this lot due to the mottled soil levels at 18-26 inches and the percolation rates were 72 min/in and 62. 7 min/in. The City of Ororno requires that the minnimum depth to mottled soil be at 54 inches and the maximum allowable perc. rate be 60 min/in. before a standard,trench system can be installed . v The size of mound system needed for a 5 bedroom home ( based on 750 gal/day daily water useage and •a perc . rate 72 min/in. the sizing factors ) would be 92 ft. hong'-on the upslope, 128 ft. long on the downslope and 62 ft. wide. The size of the rock bed needed would be 19 ft. wide by 68 ft. long ( 680 sq. ft. ) or 37 tons of rock is needed . See the enclosed design data for the specifications for the proposed system. This mound must be presssurized therefore a pump tank ( 1250 gallon) and a pump( 50g.p.m.- 214 gal/cycle- 4 cyc ;es/day) must be installed . An alarm system ( both a sound and a light alarm ) must be installed in the house to indicate pump failure. Two 1250 gallon sealed septic tanks must be installed , these tanks should be pumped out evry 2-3 years . every Only clean wash sand should be used in this mound , therefore this sand should be ♦:checked out by the local inspector to make sure it meets the specifications . All construction traffic must be kept off both sites to avoid compaction of the soils which will result in ruining the sites. Therefore both sites should be roped off by the builder.
