MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Monday, July 16, 2018 <br />6:30 o'clock p.m. <br />8. UPDATE ON JULY 9, 2018, CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Barnhart reported the July 9 had three planning related items and all items were placed on the Consent <br />Agenda. Barnhart stated the meeting in total lasted around four minutes. <br />9. OTHER ISSUES FOR DISCUSSION <br />Lemke asked whether the Planning Commission will be reviewing properties on the lake this year. <br />Curtis stated what Commission Lemke is describing is the City's inspection trip and that members of the <br />Planning Commission, alternates, and Staff have the opportunity to go around and look at the projects that <br />have been approved. <br />Barnhart stated the challenge with that is that if there is a quorum of Planning Commissioners, it needs to <br />be published as a public hearing and open to the public. <br />Libby stated he can fit 10 or 11 people comfortably on his boat and that he is located on Smith Bay. <br />Lemke stated the open meeting laws make it a challenge. <br />Barnhart stated he will talk about that with the City Attorney. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />None <br />9"1 181-1JWIdy 104 " <br />Ressler moved, McCutcheon seconded, to adjourn the Orono City Council meeting at 8:15 p.m. <br />VOTE: Ayes 7, Nays 0. <br />ATTEST: <br />Bruce Lemke, Acting Chair <br />Page 13 of 13 <br />
