MINUTES OF THE REGULAR <br /> ORONO PARKS, OPEN SPACE AND TRAILS COMMISSION <br /> MEETING HELD ON JL1NE 1, 1998 <br /> (#5 Land Swap with Hennsey continued) <br /> Gappa if the notification of public hearing went out to the neighbors around the Saga Hill area for <br /> the June 8 Council meting. <br /> Gappa was unaware of any notification but would check with City Administrator Moorse and see <br /> if a notice was sent. <br /> (#6) REPORT ON DICKEY PARK PLAN <br /> A. NAME PROPOSALS FROM NATIVE AMERICANS <br /> Ilse reported no new name suggestions at this time. <br /> B. DESIGN UPDATE <br /> McDermott noted Erickson was not present to give update. <br /> C. STATUS REPORT, SITE CLEANUP, ETC. <br /> Gappa stated the lean-to on the Dickey property had not been removed yet and will be contacting the <br /> developer to remove the lean-to prior to releasing the letter of credit. McDermott questioned if the <br /> City could hire a private contractor to cleanup the site. Gappa stated that he could inform the <br /> developer that if he does not take the building down, he will have Schoening take it down and bill <br /> it back against the letter of credit. McDermott noted the root cellar and the railroad tie retaining wall <br /> still need to be removed. Gappa stated that only the lean-to is mentioned in the letter of credit. <br /> Ilse felt that the site needed to be cleaned up so that the prairie burn could be accomplished this <br /> summer, rather than waiting another year. <br /> Gappa noted that prairie burns should be done in the spring. <br /> (#7) ICE RINK STUDY <br /> A. PREPARE REPORT TO BE SENT TO COUNCIL <br /> B. COSTS TO OPERATE RINKS (LABOR), WAYZATA AND WOODHILL <br /> COUNTRY CLUB <br /> C. EQUIPMENT REQUIRED, ITEMS THAT ORONO SHOULD PURCHASE <br /> D. COST TO DEVELOP ORONO GOLF COURSE <br /> E. SHOULD WE PROCEED WITH GOLF COURSE RINK? <br /> Gappa reported not receiving a cost study yet from Tonka Bay. <br /> McDermott noted that Wells was not present to give his report and passed this item until the July <br /> 6 meeting. <br /> 2 <br />
