MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO PARK COMMISSION <br /> MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 2, 1997 <br /> (#6 - Capital Improvements for Parks - Continued) <br /> The improvements for each park will be submitted to Gappa in priority order. Gappa will <br /> distribute these lists in the next packet. <br /> Wilson asked what time frame should be used. Gappa said the Commission should look <br /> at improvements for the next 20 years. <br /> Wilson asked that maintenance needs be listed for the upcoming year. McDermott noted <br /> that Moorse wanted to meet with the Commission and review the needs for next year. <br /> Gappa noted the importance of having a prioritized list rather than one where <br /> maintenance is picked. Wilson asked the Commissioners to bring a prioritized list to the <br /> January meeting for maintenance. She indicated that tree planting should also be a <br /> consideration. <br /> White reported that the neighbors of Casco Park are willing to help remove the buckhorn. <br /> Gappa said he would begin at the top of the list for maintenance. He noted smaller tasks <br /> can be accomplished at different times. <br /> Wilson asked that the list of capital improvements be submitted by the end of this week <br /> to Gappa and maintenance list presented at the January meeting. The lists will be <br /> distributed as soon as they are received. <br /> (#7) REVIEW OF COMMITTEE STRUCTURE <br /> This topic was not discussed. <br /> (#8) NEW BUSINESS <br /> The next scheduled Park Commission Meeting is January 5, 1998. <br /> (#9) TREE PRESERVATION DISCUSSION <br /> It was noted that the Planning Commission will discuss this topic at their meeting of <br /> December 16, 1997. Commissioners were encouraged to attend the meeting. <br /> (#10) FRIENDS OF PARK AWARD <br /> This topic will be discussed at the January Park Commission Meeting. <br /> 13 <br />
