MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO PARK COMMISSION <br /> MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 1997 <br /> (#8 - Bike Trail Maps and Discussion- Continued) <br /> Wilson asked that the analysis include where a bike route might occur. She indicated <br /> there may be locations where signs only are placed instead of widening shoulders. Fox <br /> Street was cited as an example. <br /> McDermott suggested the City Engineer aid in determining what side of the road a trail <br /> should be located on. Wilson said that can occur as part of stage two. <br /> The differing theories of wide shoulder and separated trails was discussed. Wilson noted <br /> that if trails lead to another public facility, Hennepin Parks will aid in paying for the trail. <br /> She would like to see a trail extend down CoRd 6. Erickson said he would only like to <br /> see the shoulder widened. McDermott said he is concerned with safety for children. <br /> Erickson will contact the Cities of Minnetrista and Mound. Wilson will contact Medina <br /> and Long Lake.
