MINUTE5 OF THE REGULAR URONO PARK COMMISSION <br /> MEETING�-IELD UN 3ULY 7, I997 <br /> (#4) IAWRY WOODS ACCESS UPDATE <br /> Gappa provided a handout which includes a let#er ta the property owner af the triangular <br /> piece of property for possible access to Lowry Woods. Th�neight�ors have not want�to <br /> provide an easement or sell this piece of progerty. Mrs. Johnson informed Gappa that the <br /> neighbors are not interesteci in providing access ta Lowry Woods. Gappa said the Cauncil <br /> would have to make any condemnatian deternunation. He reparted that Mrs. 3ohnson is <br /> concerned with pa.rking and accidents occurring on the curve of the roadway. Gappa said <br /> ths piece of property wauld have to be acquired to offer aff-street parking. This would <br /> require two condemnati�ns. Wilson asked Commissipners whether condemnation should <br /> be pursued. Gappa noted that ihe Co�zncil makes seriaus consideratian of any <br /> cQndemnations. He indicated that the intent of the nature conservancy is to preserve the <br /> la-nd whiah is heing done. Gappa believed the cost for providing access shouid totai <br /> $10,000-$�5,000. Wilson suggested pedestrian access only but Gappa questianed where <br /> cars would park. Wilson thought the property �auld be used by walkers anly. Gappa <br /> notecl that no parking si�ns could be considered. White suggested the matter tye placed on <br /> hold to see whether future development may answer the access question. Ilse asked that <br /> Staffnote this passibility for future subdivisian. <br /> McDermott indicated that access from Outlot A would only require one condemn�ativn. <br /> He was informed that the owners ofthat property did nvt want to see access provi�ed <br /> either. <br /> eommissianers decided ta put the matter an hald for the time being. <br /> McDermott asl�ed Gappa to check with the Cat�nty to see if there are any ptans for <br /> improvement of CoRd 84. Van <br /> Zomerea suggested the new biack dirt applied on the fields at Crystal Bay Park be note� <br /> as well. Wilsvn asked that a special notice be placed in the newspa�er when the <br /> playgound equipment is installed at Antrsine. McDermatt will head up a ribbon-cutting <br /> ceremony. <br /> lI <br />
