MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO PARK COMMISSION <br /> MEETI�1�HELD ON APP�IL 1, 1996 <br /> (#4 Interior Trails on Dickey/Coffin Development - Continued) <br /> Ilse said the plat plan given to perspective homeowners did not designate the park and <br /> trails. �„G ;ai� she favvret3 putting in the trails at this time, but she felt it was important to <br /> talk with the neighbors. <br /> McMillan said she was concerned with limestane washing into homeowners lawns and <br /> receivine comnlaints because of it. <br /> Suggestions were made to view the lay of the land, along with speaking to the neighbors. <br /> White suggested the possibility of a low fence line or low monuments. Kelley agreed with <br /> this 5c�lutic�n. <br /> Ilse moved, McDermott seconded, ta recommend a bituminous trail between Countryside <br /> Easi and �ountryside i�'est and the remainder of the tr�ils be designated with permanent <br /> monuments, 10' apart along property lines, extending 3' deep to prevent heaving, and 12" <br /> above �round. The develoner is to be invited to come before the Park Commission at the <br /> May meeting with a proposed plan for the monuments. Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. Flint <br /> pc�ir,��d cU�that th;s decisi�n is only advi��sy to the City C�uncil. <br /> (#5) PLANNING FOR PARK TOUR AT J[TNE MEETING <br /> The following lacations will be considered for the park tour in June: <br /> (?ld Crystal Bay Park Saga Hill <br /> B�a:,;zs F1SI71Tt�PiBi'S <br /> New DNR Boat Ramp Dickey Praperty - Park and Interior Trails <br /> Lowry�'c�c�ds Highwoc�d�Tature Trail <br /> (#6) CONSIDERATIOIY OF 1996 BIKE TRAIL CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM <br /> (CIT�' S'i'A FF) <br /> Flint said City Engineer, Glenn Cook, was asked to determine how far the bike trails could <br /> be constructed along �id Crystal Bay Raad for $100,000 to enable the City to use the <br /> matching grant, which would be in the amount af$50,000. It was noted that the grant <br /> monev couid be used to assist with land purchase and construction of trail. but not for <br /> sewer costs or road improvements. The costs to be provided will include the engineering <br /> cost. Ii i�ihe Commissie�ri's- recommendati�n that the trail be extended this year to the <br /> bridge area or to Hwy 12. <br /> It was noted that the City and Hennepin Parks are awaiting a decision concerning Hwy 12 <br /> on the�akzr�ark area of the trail. <br /> 5 <br />
