MINUTES OF THE PARK COMMISSION MEETING OF JUNE 2, 1992 <br /> (#4) PARKS TOUR - COMMENTS <br /> Chair Flint invited comments on the tour . <br /> Wilson indicated that the parcel on Casco Point shouid be <br /> researched to find out possibilities for the property. <br /> McMillan said they had suggested monitoring the skating rinks for <br /> usage levels . She commented on the lack of basketball facilities . <br /> Chair Flint noted they had talked about the future development of <br /> the Highwood Nature Trail . <br /> Chair Flint suggested they contact the Director of Parks at <br /> Plymouth regarding short court basketball . Wilson and McMillan <br /> volunteered to contact the City of Plymouth and report at the next <br /> meeting . <br /> Wilson said they had discussed the possibility of a soccer field <br /> at Bederwood Park . <br /> Ilse asked if that would be in addition to the informal soccer <br /> field there now. <br /> Wilson noted that it would be the same site , but the area needed <br /> some upgrading . <br /> Gerhardson reported this area could be included with the other <br /> grading project for the site. <br /> Ilse noted that the children of the area have requested the soccer <br /> nets be in place during the summer months also. <br /> Chair Flint asked abou�t reactions of the neighbors to the MS <br /> Bikethon . Ilse said the only comments she heard were about the tent <br /> they had set up. She stated the MS group cleaned up the area very <br /> well . Chair Flint reported there were a number of conflicts between <br /> the bikers and joggers on the Luce Line Trail during the MS bike- <br /> a-thon . <br /> SUBDIVISIONS REVIEW: <br /> (#8A) 845 OLD LONG LAKE ROAD <br /> Mabusth explained that this is a two lot subdivision , dividing off <br /> a 2+ acre parcel of area where the existing buildings are. <br /> Chair Flint noted there is a conceptual trail along Old Long Lake <br /> Road . <br /> Gerhardson stated that the traffic volume on Old Long Lake Road <br /> supports a trail right on the right-of-way. <br /> 6 <br />
