Alan Carlson, a resident and <br /> land developer, queationed whether the propoaed 10'x fee is not exceasive <br /> � in relation to future park needa. le thinks a public hearing on the pro- <br /> poaal should be held. Council-member Goetten said that Orono's present <br /> population ia 7400 and has been projected at 10,000, but that may be low. <br /> About 40'Z of the land area ia left for develope�ent. Lot siaea and density <br /> �ay change if more sewer• projects are undertaken in the future. <br /> During discussion, the follawing conclusiona were reached: the lark <br /> Commission ahould undertake a review and revision of the existing lark <br /> and Open Space rlan of 1980; cost eatimates for construction o£ bike-hike <br /> syate■ and other park improvementa should be presented to the Council <br /> to aupport the rark Dedication fee amendaent; and a 3-year phaae-in of <br /> new park fees ia neither fair nor practicable in light of future park <br /> needa.
