Our project is coming along well, but we would like one clarification about our permit plans to
make our inspection process smooth.
As you may remember, we enlarged the master bedroom west side window after the variance approval. You noticed on
the permit plans that the shed roof over that window would encroach more than approved beyond the average set back
line. We decided to shift the window back to comply with the approved encroachment so we can still build the shed roof
over the window.
The red note on the permit plans states"Dormer must not encroach more than 4 feet into average setback". For
inspection, the setback line is not marked on the building, so I would like a note of clarification, to measure from the
lakeside roof edge. On the elevation drawing, I measure that the approved encroachment is up to 3 feet from the lakeside
edge of the roof(which is equal to 4 feet into the average setback). Will you send me an email that we can attach to the
permit stating that the shed roof over the window can be placed 3 feet back from the roof edge?
Thank you very much,
Tami Helmer
