Part 4E, Page 11, Trails Paragraph Proposed. <br />Trails <br />The City recognizes that search areas for extensions to the Dakota Rail and the Lake <br />Independence Trails are located, in part, within City of Orono boundaries. The city supports extensions <br />and connections to these features where extensions can be made while being sensitive to environmental <br />features. Map 4A-6 shows the locations of all trails, and planned areas for expansion. <br />Table 4E-8: Trail Implementation <br />Priority <br />Project <br />Description <br />1 <br />East Long <br />The city will implement the master plan developed for the trail along <br />Lake Trail <br />the east end of Long Lake. <br />2 <br />Navarre <br />The city will actively partner with Hennepin county and Three Rivers <br />Dakota Trail <br />park District to complete a trail connection along County Road 19 <br />Connection <br />connecting Navarre to the Dakota Trail <br />3 <br />Lakeview <br />The city will plan and construct a walking trail that connects Lakeview <br />Legacy Park <br />Legacy Park to West Branch Road/County Road 151 along the old <br />Shakopee/Greenfield native American trail. This project should be <br />timed with the 2020 road construction project. <br />4 <br />Wayzata Blvd <br />The City is partnering with the city of Long Lake and Hennepin <br />Trail <br />County to provide a multi modal trail along the north side of Wayzata <br />Blvd from the Luce Line trial to the western Boundary of the Orono <br />School Property. The trail is being included as part of the CSAH 112 <br />Turn back Projects. <br />5 <br />Luce Line <br />The city will support an off-street trail that provides access from the <br />Dakota Trail <br />Luce Line Trail to the Dakota Trail. <br />connector <br />6 <br />Hunter <br />The city will partner with the Hennepin County to connect the trails in <br />Drive/Ferndal <br />northeast Orono to the Luce Line and Dakota Trails via Hunter Drive <br />e <br />and Ferndale Road. <br />7 <br />Lowry Woods <br />The city will plan trail access to the Lowry Woods Park. <br />8 <br />County Road <br />The city will work with other communities along county road 19 to <br />19 <br />support a trail connecting the Dakota Trail to Navarre south to the <br />Lake Minnetonka LRT Regional Trail <br />Notes: <br />1. The city does not support an on -street trail on County Road 15 due to its close proximity to Dakota <br />trail. <br />2. The city does not support the addition of an off-street trail along Old Long Lake Road due to the <br />nearby access to the Luce Line Trail in several locations. <br />3. The city will assemble a map showing existing right of way easements that could facilitate future <br />trail locations. <br />4. The city is open to input from the community regarding future trail plans. <br />5.
