EDWARDS, PE <br />SUBJECT: 2016 PUBLIC WORKS PLAN <br />DATE: NOVEMBER 23, 2015 <br />List of Enclosures <br />A- Draft 2016 Public Works <br />1. Purpose. The purpose of this item is to provide the council with an initial look at the 2016 <br />Public Works Plan and solicit Council feedback on same. <br />2. Summary: In an effort to improve the planning and budgeting of Public Works and <br />Engineering activities for the City of Orono, I've prepared the attached 2016 Public Works Plan <br />for review. The intent of the plan is to: <br />a. Provide an increased level of detail and refinement on those items from the Capital <br />Improvement plan (CIP) that are scheduled for the upcoming calendar and fiscal year. <br />b. Better coordinate timing of projects. <br />c. Provide City Council a comprehensive list of work for approval early in the year in <br />conjunction with the CIP and Budget approvals. <br />d. Ensure that the Public Works and Engineering Departments priorities and work items are <br />meeting council intent and direction. <br />e. Identify items for planning and engineering the year prior to their execution. <br />STAFF REQUESTS: <br />Discussion and direction on the 2016 Public Works Plan. <br />
