Police Total 4,041,833 4,261,032 4,519,170 1,672,518 4,748,800 229,630 5.08% <br />PROGRAM DESCRIPTION & OBJECTIVES: <br />The Police Department provides for the public safety within Orono and several surrounding communities. This is accomplished <br />through preventive patrol, traffic enforcement, education, criminal investigation and prosecution. Through renewable contract <br />agreements, the city provides police services to the communities of Spring Park, Minnetonka Beach, and Mound. Due to the <br />nature of these cooperative agreements, the Police Department operates, and is budgeted for as a 'cost center'.
