This application is regarding variances to construct additions to the existing home. <br /> <br />2. MN§15.99 Application Deadline. The application was received on September 17, and <br />considered to be complete on September 27. The 60-Day review period has been extended and <br />expires on January 24, 2020. <br /> <br />3. Background/ Summary. The property has lakeshore on two sides which significantly limits the <br />buildable area. The applicant is proposing additions/expansions to the 2nd story which are within <br />the lake setback but are over existing first floor. The existing garage on the property is connected <br />to the home via an underground tunnel. The proposed garage rebuild which will include a roof- <br />top deck and an above ground addition requiring variances for rear/street setback, side yard <br />setback, average lakeshore setback (road side) and 75-foot hardcover. <br /> <br />Additionally, the applicant has proposed to move an existing west facing balcony to the opposite <br />side of the home requiring a lake setback, 75-foot hardcover, and average lakeshore setback <br />variances. <br /> <br />4. Planning Commission Vote and Comment. On October 21st the Planning Commission held a <br />public hearing. Following the public hearing the Planning Commission voted 7 to 0 in favor of a <br />motion to approve the requested variances. <br /> <br />5. Public Comment. Comments from the neighbors were received and are attached as Exhibit D. <br /> <br />6. Staff Recommendation.
