Christine Mattson
From: Christine Mattson
Sent: Tuesday, June 12, 2012 10:42 AM
To: Irickriley@sawhorseusa.com'; 'mdyer@codymanagement.com'
Subject: 4115 Watertown Road/Building Permit#2012-00339
Attachments: BM Ur RE 4115 Watertown Road 2012-00339.pdf; Escrow Agreement- Building Permit w
Erosion Control 2012-00339.pdf; Escrow Agreement-Wetland Buffer 2012-00339.pdf
Hi Rick,
Our engineer has reviewed the survey submitted and the letter from Bolton & Menk and has the following
comments below.
I have reviewed the permit application and have the following comments:
• Bolton and Menk has reviewed the wetland delineation and concluded the report is complete.
• Based on the Functional Assessment of Wetlands (FAW) Map,these wetlands are considered as Preserve Level
and would trigger the Wetland Protection ordinance and require a 50' buffer.
• Per the Wetland Protection Ordinance Sec 78-1601 & 1605 the code indicates a 50' buffer is required around the
wetlands that are potentially adversely impacted apply. Based on the proposed grading and contours, this
means only Wetland 1 is the only wetland which will be affected by the proposed project and will trigger the
buffer requirement.
• Please refer to Bolton & Menk's letter which outlines what is required for the buffer requirement, Item 4, a
through e.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
Jesse Struve, PE
Director of Public Works/City Engineer
City of Orono
(952) 249-4661- Direct
(952) 249-4616- Fax
www.ci.orono.mn.us
The building permit is ready to be issued. Please have the attached building permit escrow agreement signed
and returned with a check for $2,500 from the property owner, when the permit is picked up.
As soon as possible, please provide us with a landscaping plan for the wetland buffer improvement. Once
approved, an additional escrow of $5,000 will be required for the wetland buffer improvement. An escrow
agreement for the wetland buffer improvement is also attached. Before we release the building permit escrow,
we must have the landscaping plan approved, have received the signed wetland buffer escrow agreement and
escrow money.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Christine Mattson
Planning Assistant
City of Orono
2750 Kelly Parkway Orono MN 55356 (physical address)
PO Box 66 ; Crystal Bay MN 55323-0066 (mailing address)
9 952.249.4620 8 952.249.4616
1
