Testing ( Steve Schrimers ) and it was determine . <br /> that a mound systyem system would be needed due to the lebel of <br /> mottled soil at 24-46 inches. <br /> See the repprt dated 6/29/04 on file at the City of Orono <br /> for the details. <br /> Additional soil borings and percolation tests were done in the <br /> purpose site areas to determine if the soil conditions had ..i-, <br /> change from 6/29/0# to 10/20/04 by Koch' s Soil Testing ( Robert Koch ) . <br /> The average percolation rate in the Site # 1 area was 5. 6 min/in. <br /> and the depth to mottled soil was at 34-36 inches. While in the Site# <br /> aFae areas the average percolation rate was 6.7 min/in. and the <br /> depth to mottled soil was at 28-31 inches. <br /> The above results are quite similiar to the ones obtain on 6/29/04, <br /> therefore the conditmons did not change and a mound system could <br /> be located on these two sites and still comply with the current City <br /> - of Orono Codes. <br /> The size of mound system needed for a 4 bedroom home would be <br /> .the following size; <br /> Sizing Factors; 'Daily Water Use; --600 gal/day <br /> Ave. Perc. Rate 5. 6 min/in ( Loam Soil ) <br /> Land Slope--10 % <br /> Mound System Size ----3726 sq.ft. <br /> Upslope Length--73 ft. <br /> Downslope Length--89 ft. <br /> Width--46 ft.
