Walls greater than 4' in height must be designed by a licensed
professional, and plans must be submitted to the City for review prior to the approval of the permit. Tiered walls are
considered one wall unless they are separated by at least twice the height of the lower wall are considered one wall.
Adam
From:Christine Mattson
Sent:Tuesday,April 26,2016 8:10 AM
To:Adam Edwards<aedwards@ci.orono.mn.us>
Subject: RE: 3645 Watertown Road/#2016-00319
Adam,
We received an updated survey for 3645 Watertown Road. The driveway material is not specified on the plan. The driveway requires asphalt paving from roadway for 30 ft
in order to reduce driveway drive way runoff depositing soil and debris upon the roadway. Orono municipal
code Sec 18-136 (f).
2. Septic sites must be protected. The plan depicts grading right to the edge of the primary site area. The area
should be marked with fencing to ensure it is not disturbed during grading activities. (Double'check this
comment with Roger)
3. The house plans elevation views depict what appear to be retaining walls. These are not depicted as such on
the grading/site plan. The City Survey standards require retaining walls top of wall and bottom of wall
elevations to be called out(Survey requirement#23). Walls greater than 4' in height must be designed by a
licensed professional, and plans must be submitted to the City for review prior to the approval of the
1
